DESCRIPTION |
| |
|
|
|
| |
The MONSTER uses 2 x 12v 17Ah
sealed lead acid batteries in series to produce a 24v internal supply.
The MONSTER can be used to
provide unlimited capacity to The BIG One by connecting the two units with the
supplied right-angled XLR3 curly lead.
This unit can be charged from
The BIG
One
overnight, or alternatively fast charged by using the intelligent Black Box
Video Charger.

Output
|
| |
|
|
|
| |
|
The output appears on an XLR3F
socket on the side of the unit: Pins 1 + 3 negative, Pin 2 positive.
There is a 10 amp fuse below the
XLR socket. Above the XLR socket is a blue LED which will light when the curly
connecting lead is plugged into the XLR3F socket. If the blue LED does not light
there is a fault, either the batteries are completely flat, or the fuse is
blown, or there is a fault in the connecting lead.
The curly connecting lead has a
strap between Pins 1 and 3 which activates the blue LEDs and enables the
change-over relay in The BIG One.

Charging
|
| |
|
|
|
| |
|
When The MONSTER is connected to
The BIG
One, The MONSTER can be charged in the same way as
The BIG
One’s
internal batteries.
The charging indicator on
The BIG
One indicates The MONSTER’s charge status, as per The BIG One.
It will take about 10 hours to
charge The MONSTER from flat. Alternatively, you can use the Black Box Video
Intelligent
Fast Charger, which would only take about 5 hours.
Usually you are advised by Yuasa and / or Haze not to charge
their batteries in a gas-tight container. However, in the case of The MONSTER
the Pelican case has two holes drilled under the latches to render the case
vented.

WARNING
!! |
| |
|
|
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
| |
NEVER replace the fuse with one greater than 10 Amp rating. The internal batteries can produce over 300 Amps on short circuit, so a serious fire hazard could occur if the fuse is shorted out! |
