bullet In the event that the UK changes to a single unified European currency (known as the Euro or otherwise), or agrees to the fixing of conversion rates between European Union member states, if will not have the effect of altering any term, or discharging or excusing performance under Contract
bullet Goods remain the property of Black Box Video until they are paid for in full
bullet We are able to ship outside of the UK only to some EU countries
bullet These Terms contain the entire agreement between you and us with respect to their subject matter and supersede all prior agreements and understandings between you and us in connection with them
bullet We reserve the right to modify, alter or otherwise update these Terms of Use at any time and without notice

PAYMENT TERMS

 
   
 
bullet We are unable to allow any credit accounts
bullet Black Box Video accepts payment by most major credit cards, plus Maestro and Delta, or by Company cheque (Company cheque applies to UK customers only)
bullet You may prefer to use Mastercard, Visa, Maestro or Delta, as the use of Amex incurs a surcharge of 3% of your invoice total to be added
bullet From UK customers, payment is required:
bullet either upon the day of despatch/collection if by "plastic"
bullet or in advance if by cheque
bullet Cheques to be made payable to "Black Box Video"
bullet Payment from EU customers:
bullet must be made by Electronic Bank Transfer into our account, and the goods will then be despatched once the funds have arrived
bullet We promise that we will NOT debit your credit card until the goods are ready for despatch/collection;  however
bullet if you wish to reserve goods and collect it/them later, or you ask us not to despatch until a particular later date, we will debit your card in order to hold the item/s for you - but only with your permission and knowledge
bullet Discounts
bullet may be available when three or more of the same unit are purchased at the same time
bullet and this usually applies to units, not cables, unless the cables are a part of a larger order

RETURNS

 
   
 
bullet In the unlikely event that goods prove to be faulty upon delivery, they will be replaced or repaired promptly free of charge.  However, you must report this within five days.
bullet Returns must be as new - ie, no scratches or damage - and in original packaging, and returned within one week.

REPAIRS

   
 
bullet The minimum charge for all repairs (cables and units) is £20;  the only exception to this would be if you are ordering new cables or units at the same time
bullet Black Box Video are unable to repair cables or units made by other manufacturers
bullet Before you send us units or cables for repair, please ensure that you telephone us first to discuss the problems.  Sometimes we can diagnose "finger trouble" very quickly and save you the bother!  But we do need to agree to undertake the repair and it helps to have a full description of the problem
bullet When you send anything to us for repair, we will request credit card details so that we can debit the appropriate amount as soon as the repairs are completed - you may then collect your repaired property at your convenience (or ask us to mail them to you)
bullet We are unable to store your repaired items indefinitely, therefore if you do not collect them or request they be mailed to you within six months, we will be forced to dispose of them

GUARANTEES

We want you to be happy with your purchases and will endeavour to ensure that if there are any problems they are dealt with fairly and sympathetically

bullet

Most new items are guaranteed for one year from purchase in normal use;  however, this does not cover
bullet

wear and tear on connecting leads that become damaged through heavy use

bullet

damage to units caused by excessively heavy use

bullet

damage to units or cables caused by accidents

bullet

damage caused by your own repair attempts!

POST, PACKING AND INSURANCE

 
   
 
bullet Post and packing are chargeable on all items (unless, of course, you collect them!)
bullet We always send items by Royal Mail's Special Delivery, which provides insurance, guarantees delivery by either 09:00 or 13:00 hours the next business day and allows your shipment to be tracked
bullet It should be noted that the Royal Mail's Special Delivery service:
bullet which guarantees delivery by 09:00 hours is considerably more expensive than the service guaranteeing delivery by 13:00 hours
bullet requires a signature upon delivery (for both timed services)
bullet Should you specifically request, we can send items valued at less than £50 will usually be sent by Royal Mail's First Class service, but we would remind you that we cannot be responsible for loss or damage in transit or non-arrival
bullet Black Box Video cannot be responsible if items sent by Royal Mail's First Class service fail to arrive, or arrive late
bullet Special arrangements, such as same day courier service, will attract an additional charge
bullet Black Box Video's heavier items (The BIG One and The MONSTER), or any orders which exceed the Royal Mail's weight limit of up to 10 kilos, will be despatched by TNT's Express service, if you are unable to collect them
bullet Whilst we can despatch your order to a delivery address (other than your home/business address) while you are on location - such as a hotel or production office), Black Box Video cannot be responsible for its safe arrival even if Royal Mail's Special Delivery or TNT's Express services have been used;  sadly, it has happened that a hotel "did not receive it" and although we can track the delivery and obtain a copy of the receiving signature for you, we cannot be held responsible if the parcel remains "lost" in these circumstances
bullet Should we despatch to EU customers, we will use either the Royal Mail's International Signed-For service, or TNT's International 12.00 Express service
bullet The use of TNT's International 12.00 Express service requires us to produce six sets of Commercial Invoices and declarations as Customs Documentation, therefore we have no choice but to charge a small administrative fee to cover this

bullet Our normal working hours are 09:30 to 18:30
bullet If necessary, you may collect your order from us at weekends - but only by arrangement
bullet Although we can be flexible with the above mentioned working hours, we would appreciate it if you could please respect our privacy (and precious time off!) during evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays
bullet We are delighted for you to visit us at Black Box Video, but to enable us to give you our full attention please telephone first to ensure we are available and you don't clash with other visiting clients
   
 
bullet We are saddened to be forced (by actual occasions of just this) to add this point to our Terms and Conditions - We are here 99% of the time, but please do bear in mind that we are human and therefore we have to eat and sleep, and we do like to have a private, family and social life when we can.  This means that should you arrive here, without telephoning first, only to find that we are not here - sorry, but tough titty!  If this happens, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES may you call on our neighbours;  this would be TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE and we would have to take a very dim view of it.  You have been warned! - hopefully in the nicest, friendliest possible way.
