As on the previous version, there are two strong metal carrying handles to make it easy to carry and protect the front panel.  A bargraph display shows the remaining capacity.  There is a high efficiency electronic regulator and built in mains charger at 120/240 volts.  You can use it in three modes:  USE or CHARGE or CHARGE AND USE.  The unit has a large red/green charging LED.  No memory effect.  Every output socket is individually filtered;  there are large on and off push buttons and no unplugging is required.

Now you can still have all that - AND MORE!     What are the benefits of the new Mk III version?

BIG3A.JPG (60086 bytes)The bargraph display is now a multi-colour display, so its now really clear and easy to so how much power you've got.

BIG3F.JPG (53861 bytes)

There is now an XLR3M auxiliary power socket on the side of the unit - a 24 volt sealed lead acid battery (see The MONSTER below) may be connected to this socket to provide almost unlimited capacity to The BIG One;  when this supply is correctly connected a blue LED above the bargraph display will light (a suitable XLR connecting lead is is supplied with The MONSTER).  This means that you've got a BIG One with limitless energy!

Sadly, there has to be a small price increase for the Mk 3 version, but the additional features will be well worth it!

Mk III, The BIG One PRICE:    £695 (including mains lead)

If the BIG One (Mk 3) is not enough for you then the answer is The MONSTER!.   A MONSTER unit at a mini price!

This  is our new auxiliary power supply to be used with The BIG One to almost treble The BIG One's capacity to a massive 58 Ah.  It's a 24 volt sealed lead acid battery in an extremely rugged, easy to carry, protective case (Pelican™ 1300).

This is guaranteed to provide even the heaviest, greediest user with all-day operation.  But if you are still worried, why not buy twin-MONSTERS (or even multiple-MONSTERS) - use one, charge one (or two) - which really would give you power into infinity!  You see, it really is the ultimate solution to your power problems.MONSTER3.JPG (7592 bytes)

The MONSTER can be charged either from The BIG One (Mk 3) overnight, or from an independent intelligent fast-charger (being developed now, and available soon).

The MONSTER incorporates a super-efficient blue LED to monitor battery condition, fuse OK, connecting cable OK, etc.

A curly, rugged connecting lead with right-angled XLR3 plugs is supplied with your unit.

PRICE:   £295  (including curly connection lead)

Our new Handy Power 12v SLA Battery system has the same capacity as NP1 Hydrides, but adds many more useful features.  Have a look at this table and see if you still think there's any comparison!

No you can just plug any 12 volt equipment into our new Handy Power Battery.  Whatever your gear has - XLR, Hirose, even a BP90 - just plug in.  No shoes, plates, adaptors or extra cables needed.  You can even use all three sockets together!

Want to switch off to save power? - just use the switch - no unplugging needed.

If you overload the Handy Power Battery, the electronic fuse operates.  Remove the overload and it will reset.  If you leave it switched on once the battery is flat it auto-disconnects to save damage.  Should you plug in a shorted or dodgy lead a warning buzzer will sound!  Very clever!

The Handy Power Battery can be part-charged and part-discharged at will - there is no memory effect.

The best news is that you can re-cell the Handy Power Battery yourself in 5 minutes - no soldering involved - and re-celling costs less than £15!!  And to add to its simplicity, you can attach a strap to it and sling it over your shoulder for easy access/carrying.

Of course, an intelligent computer-controlled fast charger is available.  (We are also planning a 4-Bay Intelligent Charger, so watch this space).

Yes, back by popular demand is the PP3 Battery Box

PP3box.jpg (48125 bytes)

The PP3 Battery Box solves the problem of powering your Miniature Time Code Transmitter when you can’t take power from the camera.  It powers your Transmitter directly from a PP3 battery, but is much more robust than the PP3 Clip Adaptor. You can fling it about a bit and it will still give you the power you need, without breaking or complaining!

Use the PP3 Battery Box anywhere you need 9v power.  The 9v output is available on a HRS4F socket pins 1 & 4.  The bright red LED indicates the amount of power in your battery so you won’t get caught with a wilting one.

The unit is provided with a flush slide On / Off switch, and runs on a PP3 type battery.  Battery voltage monitor LED lights brightly to show 9v is available on the Hirose connector. Also lets you know status of the battery. The red LED is a special ultra high efficiency type with virtually nil power consumption.

PRICE:    £49

The Mk II Micro Power Pack is so compact it clips directly onto a Beta cam's PAGlok™ plate, enabling the camera to be run from the mains.  It has the same footprint as a PAGlok™ plate and is extremely lightweight - less than a kilo!

micropp.jpg (100659 bytes)

This unit is smaller and lighter than the Mk I version and has lots of practical features.

Use a standard IEC connector for mains input, and the unit auto-switches to any voltage in the world.  It has self re-setting electronic overload and short circuit protection.  The Mk II Power Pack has two 4 pin Hirose sockets and a BP90 as well as an XLR4 auxiliary output.  A large, clear, green LED confirms voltage OK.  It has a very sturdy metal carrying handle.

PRICE:     £345 (including mains lead)

The 3000 Watt Dimmer is robust and portable and can dim up to 3000 Watts of tungsten lighting.

It is lightweight, yet built in a sturdy die cast box designed to take rough treatment on the road.

The Dimmer is fitted with a flush 13 Amp output socket and shatterproof 13 Amp plug.  A calibrated dimmer level knob allows accurate settings.  Low hysteresis circuitry ensures repeatability of settings.  There is a double pole illuminated on/off switch for safety.  The unit has fully screened, double balanced interference suppression.

PRICE:     £175
