Foldback Units Mk 3

Foldback Units Mk 3

The Mk 3 version of our UHF 863 MHz Directors' Foldback system is DTI approved and no licence is required

Please note, however, that we are unable to produce these units (as explained on our UHF Foldback homepage) and we are now offering our Mk 4 version

It is also helpful to note that the Mk 3 version is NOT compatible with either the Mk 4 or the Mk 1 versions, but it IS compatible with Mk 2 units

Mk 3 863 MHz Stereo Transmitter (copyright Black Box Video)
The Mk 3  863 MHz Stereo Transmitter operates in the UHF band to provide very high quality stereo transmission from a slimline unit, providing 8 times the power of the original version

It is powered by a standard 12 volt 4 pin Hirose socket.  Stereo input is via a 6 pin Hirose socket from your mixer.  The TX has superbright battery volts and power LED indicators.  An automatic power saving system switches the TX to standby when not in use.  The Mk 3 Transmitter now has a 3 position switch control for feeding stereo "left/right", or just "left", or just "right" channels

Mk 3 863 MHz Transmitter Power Booster (copyright Black Box Video)

The optional Mk 3 863 MHz Transmitter Power Booster is only for power hungry maniacs!!

It is a very small unit (only about 2 inches square) but increased the power of the TX by 75 times.  The output is 750 mW.  It is simply powered from the bottom 4 pin Hirose socket on the main TX unit.  The Power Booster will work from 9-18 volts with no change in performance.  It uses a high efficiency switch mode power supply for lowest possible current consumption

Mk 3 863 MHz Foldback Receiver (copyright Black Box Video)
The Mk 3 863 MHz Foldback Receiver is a very high quality, self powered unit for Directors, PA's etc who need to hear the sound mix on the set.  The Mk 3 Receiver's sensitivity has been dramatically improved with completely re-designed circuitry.  This unit uses a rechargeable metal hydride internal battery pack with a much greater battery life of a gigantic 100 hours.  It has a standard 3.5mm minijack stereo socket for headphones;  BNC aerial socket;  the volume control is by a push On/Off switch

The Mk 3 units automatically tune themselves each time they are switched on.  The tuning then autotracks continuously.  In the unlikely event that the Receiver tunes to an unwanted frequency, the unit can be tuned to the next TX channel automatically by pressing the small recessed black button on the side of the unit
