DESCRIPTION

The Dual Dimmer will dim two independent 1.5 Kwatt channels of tungsten lighting. The unit is very robust both electrically and mechanically. Both channels have very conservatively rated control triacs which can withstand a 250 Amp surge for one cycle.

Combined with very fast precision fuses this means the Dual Dimmer is very well protected against blown lamps.

WARNINGS !!


	The Dual Dimmer MUST be earthed, as it contains capacitors to earth ! The Dual Dimmer is fitted with two illuminated double pole high inrush mains switches for safety - NEVER rely on turning the dimmer control to minimum for isolation: THE OUTPUT SOCKET IS LIVE UNTIL THE MAINS SWITCH IS TURNED OFF !

LIMITATIONS


	The unit is NOT designed to dim fluorescent lights or discharge type lamps, such as HMI. Attempting to control sources with highly inductive loads - such as motors - will damage the unit. ONLY use the Dual Dimmer on normal filament lamps such as "Red Heads".

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

The green illuminated rocker switches are double pole switches and isolate each channel. Each channel has it's own precision fuse alongside each dimmer control.

Above the fuse is a red neon - this will light if a fuse blows when the channel is turned on. A spare fuse is provided in the fuse holder alongside the mains cable entry. The fuse is a 10AFF 20mm type. Replace with the correct type to maintain the protection for the control triacs.

The Dual Dimmer is very quiet, both electronically and sonically. Each channel has a double balanced filter to reduce noise and interference very effectively.

The Dual Dimmer can be used on 110 volts, but the dimmer control knob will only work over about half its normal range.

There are no user serviceable parts inside the unit. In the unlikely event of a fault, return to Black Box Video for repair.
