Connect the
Box Aerial to the Video Sender Receiver using the short SMA lead.
The Box Aerial is directional, so for best results
you must ensure it is pointing towards the Transmitter with the
curved surface facing forward, mounted vertically (not sideways or
on its side); make sure the Box Aerial can "see" the transmit
aerial and is not blocked by metalwork or very dense structure.
Mounting it as high as possible will also help the Box Aerial to see
over obstructions, such as people passing between the Transmitter
and the Receiver.
The Box Aerial will cover an area approximately 65
degrees either side of the centre line, so positioning does not have
to be very accurate.
If trying to mount the Box Aerial high up, do not
extend the aerial lead beyond one metre or too much signal will be
lost. Rather, mount the Receiver close to the aerial and
extend the Video-Out on a longer BNC, and the same for the power
lead.
The Box Aerial can also be used on the
Transmitter, as well as the Receiver, if appropriate (ie, the two
aerials must be pointing at each other). This will give a very
large improvement in both distance covered and reliability of
signal.
