DESCRIPTION |

|
|
|
| |
This Dimmer is designed to control tungsten light sources up to a total maximum load of 3000 Watts.
It uses an advanced integrated circuit phase angle control chip which gives excellent performance with wide range, smooth control and low hysteresis.
The unit can withstand inrush currents of 150 Amps for 1 cycle, so it is also very robust.
The Dimmer is fitted with heavy duty double balanced suppression which will give up to 70 dB reduction on RFI. |

Warnings! |

|
|
| |
The 3000 Watt Dimmer is fitted with an illuminated double pole high inrush mains switch for safety.
NEVER rely on turning the dimmer control to minimum for isolation; the output socket is live until the mains switch is turned off.
The RFI suppressor has capacitors to earth inside so the Dimmer
MUST ALWAYS be earthed. |

Limitations |
| |
|
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The unit is NOT
designed to dim fluorescent lights or discharge type lamps, such
as HMI. Attempting to control sources with highly
inductive loads - such as motors - will damage the unit.
ONLY use the Dimmer on normal filament lamps
such as "Red Heads" and "Blondes".
The suppressor works by converting RFI into heat
and a small amount of audio noise. In a small box designed
for portability some buzz will inevitably be audible when heavy
loads are dimmed, and will be worst at the 50% level, which
generates the maximum RFI. |

REPAIR SERVICE |
| |
|
|
|
| |
Portable dimmers on the road lead a very heavy duty life. This Dimmer is very robust and designed to take the tough conditions it will be used under. However, when a bulb blows it can open circuit fuses and occasionally will damage the power control Triacs. We operate a fixed charge repair service costing £50 + VAT and regardless of the problem guarantee to repair the unit for this sum. |
